Newsletter #10 - July 2008
Independence Day
I am
guided to pass on this knowing on this beautiful July morning.
May the words bless you and allow your mind to quiet and
your heart to open as it has for me.
I was
given the amazing book, The Shack, by William P.
Young and just finished it the day before the 4th of
July. I highly recommend this inspiring and thought
provoking book. It is a story of a father's journey of
healing after his 6 year old daughter, Missy, is abducted and
brutally murdered. It sounds like a depressing story
but it is extremely moving and filled with hope and
empowerment. It reminds me a bit of Conversations
with God, by Neale Donald Walsch as God speaks to Mack,
the father, and breaks down the inconsistencies with Jesus'
original teachings and most of Christianity's rules. In
a beautiful, understandable way it reconciles the
suffering and pain of this world with God's unending,
unconditional love.
It was
so synchronistic that one of the major truths that God
discusses in the book is our need for independence as
Independence Day was approaching. God and Jesus in the
story, as many others believe, discuss how our disconnection
from Source or Creator arose from our need to be
Independent. The Webster's dictionary definition of
Independence is, "freedom from control or influence of
another or others." I would say that about sums it
up. We want to make our own choices and God allows this. We
don't want to be bossed around. But in that independence
we forget to ask for or receive the help given to us which
often is our downfall.
As I
have been sharing for years now, this is a shifting planet
we walk on. We are shifting our thoughts and beliefs
as our culture is shifting from materialism and separateness
to gratitude and acceptance of all. This is
manifesting in the deep cleansing of our world and
especially our country through the fires, floods and manipulation
of our economy through rising gas prices. As these old
patterns of separateness, fear, competition and
judgment are released we can't help but feel a little lost.
We aren't where we want to be but we're not where we used to
be. So where are we? How do we integrate our
heart's knowing that we are all one and loved
unconditionally into tangible action and still act in
our seeming 3 dimensional world? Put simply, how do we
follow our hearts and still get the bills paid and have the
energy to create a world of peace, JOY and true freedom?
How do we step out of our own confusion and lives and
help others when we aren't sure what we
need?
For
the past several weeks I have seen 911 repeatedly.
Just about every AM and every night I glance at the digital
clock and there it is. I look up on the highway at the
911 boxes. I see license plates with 911 on them
repeatedly throughout the day. A purchase the other
day was $9.11. My odometer ends with 911 when I glance
at it. The country song about 9/11 comes on the radio
frequently. You get the idea.
A
friend shared that it was about my asking for help. I
feel so balanced right now. Many times as a child,
Nurse Manager and even since I started my Angelic healing
practice I wished I had someone to help with all the
responsibilities and hats I was wearing. I don't feel
that way now so that answer didn't feel just right. I
knew the answer wasn't to be found in my mind and that if I
was patient the answer would softly land in my heart as the
deep knowings always do.
I went
swimming last week and as I was finishing an older woman
came running into the pool area from the showers and shouted
that one of the other elderly woman had fallen. I
jumped out of the pool and went to help her. She
injured her elbow and couldn't get up. She is 88 years
old and so sweet. We offered to drive her car and her
home. She adamantly refused our offers to bring her to
Urgent care to check on her elbow or even the ride.
Another elderly woman said after she left, "It is hard
for us to accept help as we get older. We need to stay as
independent as we can because that is our freedom."
I told her that it is hard for all of us to accept help at
any age and when we allow others to help we are really free
from the weight of doing it all ourselves. Then I
said.... "We're all in this together."
The
reality of that deep, deep knowing hit me so hard. As
we aren't separate, we are all experiencing it all. We
all need to ask for help or take the help that is being
given to us. The times of being everything to everyone
is over. I called my husband and told him that I
had a 911 Operation that morning in the pool. 911
Operation...there it was. We are here to not just ask
for help when we need it but offer it when it is needed from
us, not from our need to feel loved or accepted but from our
hearts. Not from our emptiness but from our fullness.
If we are allowing others to help us then we will have
enough to give. So the 911 goes both ways....I must
ask for the help I need...dial the number...and you must ask
for the help you need. If we don't have the energy to
be the helper...we must speak honestly and pass the person
on to someone that has what they need.
Independence
doesn't bring us true freedom. The sum is always much
more powerful than its parts. We are all in this
together. God and the angels and all of our Earthly
friends are here to help us. But we must accept that
help and even be willing to ask for it when we need it.
Knowing that we have a loving Creator that doesn't
bring destruction or pain to us or even witness it idly, not
caring, helps us to trust Him/Her enough to float in that
amazing Love, Acceptance and Compassion. That is the
God of my understanding and of the New World that we are
creating right now literally from the ground up.
How do
we build a relationship with this Being that is so hard
to comprehend? We start talking, feeling and breathing
with Him/Her. This can happen in the stillness and
quiet or in the busy-ness of our lives. Our Creator is
only a thought or breathe away. God resides in our
heart..... Everyone of us. The Angels are the friends
and messengers of God, so calling on them for help is the
same as asking God for help.
We
can't raise the energy of this planet as everything appears
to be falling away, independently. We all must rely
and trust each other. Working together as a community
and allowing our friends in the Spirit world to help us
is the only way we will be successful. Remember that the
Law of Free Will is just as powerful as the Law of
Attraction. The Spirit world including God cannot
work on our behalf without our permission. They won't
usurp our freedom to choose our path of destruction or peace
and JOY. We must first Ask for
help...Angel starts with A and then Listen
and wait for the answers....Angel ends in L.
We wait not in fear but in the absolute knowing that All is
Well and we will always have everything we need.
I
thank you for walking this path with me at this exciting
time. We are all in this together. I continue to
offer Blessings, Peace, Gratitude, Healing and
Appreciation for this beautiful earth, you, all those you
love and those that are hard for you to love daily.
